New windows 11 released - Need to know more on the release?
Posted On Oct 8, 2021The new Windows 11 operating system from Microsoft is now available. It has a new user interface, a revised Start menu, a rebuilt Microsoft Store, and much more. Microsoft compares Windows 11 to a restored family house, but have all of the renovations been completed?
Let us have a brief evaluation of the same. At the moment some things are missing. Over the next few years, we can expect a massive change in the current scenario.
What’s new in Windows 11? Let's have a look.
The first thing is the design part. The design is taskbar-centered. We can see the start menu as a taskbar centered. In one word we can note it as “Centralised and simplified”.
Next, we can check with the windows new start menu which is very unique as it provides a tile interface.
In some ways, we can say that design fragments of Microsoft were inspired by the macOS, Chrome OS. At top-recommended stuff was pinned which is actually worthy to the users. Time and date on the taskbar are missing that are not actually complacent in some way. Drag the app to drop in the taskbar option has also vanished.
Widgets are usually pinned in the right below corner was shifted to the left section. Bunch-wise division is marked separately and can be identified very smartly. Like sports information, Weather info, Location data, etc. Anyway, the feature looks smart but dragging of the same is restricted which is not so entertaining. Additionally, the widget’s feature of displaying more details will be redirected to the Edge browser even though my default priority is the Chrome browser. That is also not an interesting feature.
In the taskbar, the next highlighted feature is the Microsoft Teams integration. As an official purpose, it is really interesting. As per the recent surveys, more migrators are focused on the teams compared to the last days.
Snap layout the next thing. You are able to snap your apps as you like them. This comes pretty easily and is welcomed by the most as multitasking is enabled via this facility.
In the settings, session icons were colored which will be easily identifiable. Features enable us to pretty easily navigate around. The dark mode facility of the theme is also appreciable.
The New Microsoft store helps to navigate around easily now. The store comes up with different apps. Xbox app also comes interestingly compared to the old version. Wordapp has no updates, its ribbon interface is actually an old phase that needs to be changed. Photo apps don’t have much difference but have provided a bar command bar at the bottom. That helps you to flick between the photos.
These are some of the features we have focused on. Hopefully, Microsoft needs to improve some more in different terms which can be expected in the future.
