About Kuriakose Elias English Medium School (KEEMS) Mannanam

Kuriakose Elias English Medium School, part of the esteemed Kuriakose Elias Group of English Medium Schools, was established in 1991 and is situated on the eastern side of the hillock of Mannanam, Kottayam. This location is historically significant as it is the holy place where St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara founded the CMI Congregation and his first Sanskrit school. The schools are named in honor of this influential 19th-century Kerala luminary and are managed by the CMI St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvananthapuram. From its inception as an unaided English Medium School with U P and High School sections, Kuriakose Elias School has grown significantly.

In June 1995, the school expanded to include a Kindergarten Section and Day Care Center, catering to the educational needs of younger children. By February 2002, Kuriakose Elias English Medium School achieved a milestone by affiliating with the ICSE board, and shortly thereafter, the Higher Secondary Section (ISC) was introduced. In July 2002, the school further diversified its offerings by upgrading the recognized State Syllabus to include Higher Secondary courses in Science, Commerce, and Computer Science. This comprehensive curriculum ensures that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for various academic and professional paths.

Today, Kuriakose Elias English Medium School is distinguished by its dual affiliation to the ICSE Board and the Kerala State syllabus, offering distinct sections for each stream. The school's commitment to academic excellence, combined with its rich historical and cultural heritage, creates a unique learning environment that nurtures students' intellectual and personal growth. Managed by the dedicated CMI St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvananthapuram, the school continues to uphold the legacy of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara by providing quality education and fostering holistic development in its students.
