When in a world where the work environment brings automation to do things, you need servers that are powerful enough to run advanced technology like artificial intelligence, machine learning and high-performance analytics workloads. Hewlett Packard Enterprise, a leading group producing servers welcomes these new technologies with a much more intensive methodology.

Targeting Enterprise Markets, HPE is prepared to give good competition to other players like the NAS solutions. HPE has introduced the parallel storage of a unique feature that uses clusters of HPE Apollo systems or HPE ProLiant DL Rack Servers with HPE InfiniBand HDR/Ethernet 200 Gb adapters. This feature is possible due to the embedded IBM Spectrum scale.

Till now, HPE’s E-1000 Lusture based system remains the top runner in advanced supercomputing. But Lustre parallel file system had suffered at the face of IBM’s Spectrum Scale File Systems. What makes IBM’s Spectrum Scale so different is the enterprise features consisting of snapshots, compression, data replication, data encryption, policy-based data movement etc. These features are something that is lacking in Lustre and has problems in deployment and support; although Lustre is known as extremely powerful.

HPE Launches Storage Line Loaded with IBM's Spectrum Scale File System

Why it is important?

Many enterprises(large business corporations) are slowly but steadily integrating Artificial Intelligence into many domains in business. This is being a common tool in business analytics and business intelligence applications. With such enterprise enabled IBM Spectrum being incorporated into HPE rack servers, a lot of business solutions using AI can be run without interruptions.

Whilst the Lustre system was meant to be configured on the high-end systems making the expenses farther than what is actually a customer looks for, HPE-IBM’s Spectrum Scale helps for smaller entry-level systems which are expected to be welcomed by in the storage market.

These new systems are expected to be in the market by May according to HPE.So, everyone is eagerly looking at the rack server price of this new combination.

Tell us what are your thoughts on the HPE-IBM rack servers to Comtech Systems!
